Privacy notice

How this version of Brood handles comments, browser storage and external services.

Updated 23 October 2026.

Browsing Brood

The site’s own pages do not require an account or ask you to submit personal details through a form. Recipe search and category filtering happen in your browser. Our own site code does not send those searches to a search provider.

The hosting provider may process technical request information, such as an IP address, requested page and browser details, to deliver and protect the website. The hosting provider’s settings determine the logs retained.

Your device’s storage

Brood saves ticked recipe ingredients, your chosen five-day lunch plan and Bread Match scores in your browser’s local storage. A display name is saved with a round only when you choose to save that score. These values are used on your device and are not sent to Brood by the site code. You can remove them using the browser’s site-data controls. The site still works if this storage is unavailable.

Disqus comments

Comment sections connect to Disqus only after you select “Join the conversation”. Loading Disqus connects your browser to its services and may allow it and its partners to use cookies, device information or other identifiers under their policies. Disqus handles the information you submit to it, including account and comment information.

Read Disqus’s privacy policy before loading or using comments. Manage your Disqus account, comment history and privacy choices through Disqus. Brood may moderate the comments displayed on its pages.

External websites

Links to Facebook, WP Tech, original recipe sources and other external sites take you to services with their own privacy practices. Information you send through those services is governed by their policies and the recipient’s handling of the message.

Advertising and analytics

This version does not include a separate Brood analytics tracker or a Google AdSense integration. Disqus may deliver advertising or related services under its own arrangements. If Brood adds other advertising or analytics services, this notice and any relevant privacy choices need to be updated before those services are enabled.

Contact

Send privacy questions relating to Brood to the Brood Facebook page. For information held by a third-party service, contact that service directly.
